It was a difficult day for me yesterday but my spirits were lifted by the bonfire celebration in the village. We had a magnificent bonfire and spectacular fireworks all managed by members of the village committee in a safe environment. It was well attended by both villagers and visitors and will raise much needed funds for the village playground.
The bonfire was a good reflection of my feelings yesterday. Some things going up in smoke never to be the same again and then an element of celebration symbolised by the fireworks.
