It was a very stormy day on Saturday and particularly bad on the M6 near Shap. Although difficult driving in the rain and wind when the sun did come out the hills were dazzling in shades of grey through to light green. Sadly I was not able to stop and photograph not just because it was a motorway but also it would have been impossible in the weather conditions.
The roadworks and mandatory 50 mile per hour speed limit did give me extra time to admire the views.
