Today I am taking my very brave neighbour to a care home for a weeks holiday with an option to stay there. Ever since I have known her, 31 years now, she has loved her home more than anyone I know. Now at the age of 86 and after a traumatic 18 months of failing health she has decided that now is the time to leave.
I expect we will both shed a few tears before the day is out.
