It's a cold miserable day, rain and grey skies. I have just been talking to my friend in France and she is enjoying a lovely sunny day and had the first light rain for a month at the weekend.
I was interested to read yesterday that the yachtswoman Ellen McArthur is giving up sailing to concentrate on global environmental issues as she has become so concerned about the state of the world.
It's hard to relate to such important worldwide issues from your own small patch of land but I know we must look beyond our own back garden.
